Transforming a business through eCommerce


Unlike most eCommerce projects this case study is not simply a tale of increasing turnover and maximising profit. This project involved more fundamental business change. We helped an entrepreneur to move from a system and processes which dominated his life to a new platform which generated increased sales and freed him up to grow his business. This is how we did it.

The client

A UK and Northern Europe operation


Amrita Nutrition supply superior health supplements to the UK and North European markets. Their eCommerce business has expanded rapidly and the work undertaken by Quba has created a new base for further growth; both in the existing markets and further afield.

What we did

Process and user analysis


The project kicked-off with an immersive discovery phase in which personas were used to identify key customer groups and their purchasing journey.
Observing the business processes and the lifecycle of an order from Google searches through to product dispatch, allowed us to pinpoint where we could streamline the fulfilment process and make the operation more efficient.
Through iterative sketching and then interactive prototypes, we created solutions to lay foundations for the growth of the business.

Brand and visuals

Out with the old, in with the new


The old website and brand was dated. Very quickly our team identified that the existing name (Functional Nutrition Supplements) and colour palate did not appeal to our end customer. With our help a brand agency created a new name, brand and graphic components.
We proposed Magento 2 as the ecommerce platform as much of the required functionality could be delivered from the core product, though bespoke code was required to build the affiliate sales management.

Digital marketing

Increasing sales from end users


The big challenge was to reduce the reliance on affiliate sales. Establishing Amrita Nutrition as a challenger brand in the nutritional supplements space and generating awareness with end consumers required a fresh approach to SEO.
We facilitated this through a detailed keyword research exercise and lots of on-page optimisation. The result has been an increase in sales from end consumers.

Quba's involvement at the go-live stage was really useful. It gave me the metrics I needed straight away to prove to the business that the go-live had been successful.
