Gatecrasher is probably one of the best-known clubbing brands. But launching a major
festival and selling 60,000 festival tickets in 3 months was a major challenge even
for them.
First, we designed and built a destination micro site that would create the necessary
impact to sell the event and announce to the world that the Gatecrasher Summer Sound
System was going to be the largest dance music event ever held in the UK.
The site was to be the main point for purchasing tickets so we built an e-commerce
system that saved Gatecrasher £000's in ticket sales commissions.
The site uses a number of interactive features to bring the event to life online.
A media player launches music from the headline artists. There are video archives
of previous Gatecrasher events and past and current artists all drawn from YouTube.
A discussion forum is used to create interaction and discuss previous Gatecrasher
events. Wallpapers, MySpace skins and images from a gallery can all be downloaded.
The site uses links to Facebook and Myspace communities to virally expand the event
online.
To promote the event we undertook a massive profile targeted banner campaign backed
up with a targeted pay per click campaign.
After extensive research into this sector we built up a profile of their target
customer. We knew the sites they used, the clothes they wore and the social sites
they frequented and used this information to ensure everyone who needed to know
about this event did.
In fact our Facebook campaign netted Gatecrasher a huge return on their spend. As
a result of our extensive profile matching and expert management Gatecrasher saw
an overall gross ROI across the online marketing campaign of over 1,350%.
