The Vacancy

We are looking for a Marketing Executive to work alongside our Marketing Director to help create awareness of Quba and further develop and implement our marketing strategy, leading to the generation of new business opportunities and sales. 

We’re looking for someone ambitious who can see the potential in the role, who has a proven track record in marketing and can bring new ideas into the mix. We expect that you will have 2-3 years’ commercial experience, preferably in an agency environment or related sector, but this is not essential to have. 

The Company

Quba is a design and technology agency based in Sheffield. We create digital systems and websites using a combination of outstanding UX, design, and technology to make a real difference to our clients' businesses. We're a fun bunch of techies, creatives and marketing types, and we're always on the lookout for exceptional people to join our team.

We are currently all working from home but will shortly be seeking out new modern city centre offices to offer our staff on a hybrid working basis.

The Role

This is a varied and challenging role that requires a person who is both organised and efficient with a creative mind. You will need to have high attention to detail, be proactive in idea generation, with spark and enthusiasm which will ensure that our marketing grows and has lasting impact.  

Working with our Marketing Director and supported by a mixture of specialists across the business including design and development, senior management and freelancers, you will be responsible for the daily output of our marketing, including content, social, and other assets along with reporting on success. 

The we are looking for candidates within commuting distance of either Sheffield or London. Working in both locations is a key requirement of the role so a willingness to travel is essential.  

Main tasks & responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include creating and distributing social posts, organising content and ensuring we get the maximum reach across multiple channels. Other responsibilities include reporting on progress, organising events and working on other marketing projects as and when required.    

In summary you will be responsible for: 

  • Researching and managing the creation of our marketing material, working with the team to ensure that quality content is created that aligns to our marketing objectives. These include: case studies, blogs, videos, guides, podcast, white papers and ensuring that the maximum reach and marketing return is gained from this material. 
  • Ensuring the consistent execution of the brand, both internally and externally. 
  • Develop and maintain the agency’s social media presence against set performance targets. 
  • Managing an email campaign schedule. Preparing, sending and reporting on email campaigns. 
  • Building and maintaining a permission-based list of prospects, influencers and customers in our CRM system.  
  • Looking for PR opportunities and preparing regular press releases. 
  • Monitoring awards and preparing entries for suitable projects.  
  • Ensuring the Quba website is up to date, including the blog, the production of relevant and interesting articles and tracking performance of the website using Google Analytics, Hotjar and other tools. Always looking out for how we can improve our web presence to enhance the brand values and improve performance. 
  • Organising and attending relevant events. 

Skills & Experience

The right candidate will: 

  • Be able to prove they have strong writing skills and the ability to think ‘creatively’ about content generation and marketing ideas. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in this area. 
  • Have experience and a passion for executing social media activity through a number of channels, preferably in a professional capacity. 
  • Be ‘out going’ and able to engage with the wider agency team to support in the creation of content for the website and wider marketing activity.  

Nice to have’s 

Be familiar with using the latest marketing technologies such as CRM’s, marketing automation tools and analytics.
