I spoke to the new starters; Jack, Melodie and Loui to find out more about them and their roles at Quba.

What is your role as a new Quban?

Jack - Graphic Designer, I help bring ideas to life while trying to sprinkle a little bit of visual appeal to everything I touch.

Melodie - Project Manager, I’m here to ensure everything runs like a steam engine without too many breakdowns along the way.

Loui - Digital Account Executive, I help manage the Quba Care support retainer, so I will be the first port of call for any of our client's queries.

What has stood out to you about Quba so far?

Jack - How nice it is to be able to work on such large-scale projects, and the people here are very welcoming.

Melodie - The agency is very people focused, as soon as you walk through the door you get a feeling of what embodies a Quban employee, talented, friendly, collaborative and honest.

Loui - The atmosphere at Quba is brilliant, everyone is here to help each other, also the office is great, you can’t beat a game of FIFA on your lunch!

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Jack - Open, creative & adventurous.

Melodie - Kind, enthusiastic and chatty (my Mum used to call me Little Miss Chatterbox)

Loui - Inquisitive, outgoing & approachable

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

Jack - My biggest achievement to date is hitting over 50k online followers by showcasing illustrations (colouring in pretty much).

Melodie - Buying my house last year in Crookes.

Loui - Probably completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for St Luke's hospice, extremely challenging but all for a good cause & very rewarding!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Jack - I like to DJ, both digital and on vinyl. Mainly house, techno & disco. Anything that gets your grooving.

Melodie - Vegan cooking, learning Japanese and dancing.

Loui - Following football & socialising with my friends.

What’s your favourite kind of music?

Jack - I listen to anything, but most of the time its hip hop. None of that mumble rap though, all about the lyrics for me.

Melodie - I like a whole smorgasbord, everything from 90s rock and electro to my indie heydays of the early 2000s. As I’ve got older, I’ve refined my palette and love a bit of old blues and jazz.

Loui - I like all different kinds of music but probably indie.

Tell us something we don't know about yourself?

Jack - I can be quite clumsy when it comes to spatial awareness, so apologies in advance.

Melodie - I teach swing dancing in my spare time, I do classes in Lindy Hop and Balboa which are two partner dances from the 1920s- 1940s.

Loui - I have had a passion for video editing ever since I was little.
